Video of how to replace stock head unit with aftermarket head unit. This video is only pics with voice over so it goes kind of fast. If you have any question I can try to help.

Replaced for embedded video hopefully.

I used two old steak knives and cut a notch in them. Works great for radio removal.

radio removal things

The ones I use came with the car, leading me to believe the original owner had swapped the radio out and then put the old one back in when he was done. I bought my stuff from crutchfield.com and I think it came with the removal tools also but I don't remember now. I have an O2 sensor video I made but haven't voiced over yet need to put that up. Right now my cars in the shop after being rear ended by some *** in honda civic. Broke motor mounts and bent the muffler, crazy.
Might have to sell it though with my wife still sick and not working on what I make alone it hard to keep up with maintenance. There's problems I know I have that I just don't fix, unplug a sensor here, bypass a hose there. It keeps the car running but it should be kept better car of.

Will the steering wheel controls work? If not do you know what I need to make them work? Thanks!

they claim

They claim they can. Here is a link to crutchfield
http://www.crutchfield.com/g_300/All...%5Brank1%5DYes

They claim these will fit with an adapter cable. You'd have to call them to double check. The above is a list of head units that fit a 2000 e class without navigation and the Bose system. Generally if you have navigation a head unit upgrade will not allow you to access navigation anymore, generally.

I use crutchfield because of the car fit option in their car stereo section. I don't get any kick backs from them.

If you are really curious and not sure of your wiring abilities go to your local car stereo place and ask them. They can help and give you a good idea. Just make sure its reputable, don't want people cutting up your wiring harness because they don't want to spend ten buck on an adapter.
