Power Steering Hose Replaced

Power Steering Hose Replaced
A couple of weeks ago, I was working on an unrelated project and had the front engine cover section removed along with the air intake snorkels. My eye caught something that I hadn't previously noticed: a rubber hose coming out of the back of the power steering reservoir was in poor shape. I could see a lot of cracking in the hose.
I ordered a replacement for the u-shaped hose that is about the size of your hand. The part number is: 210-997-32-82. I also picked up a quart of MB power steering fluid.
I started by pumping as much of the fluid as I could out of the reservoir. I didn't want any fluid dripping out of the reservoir once I removed the hose, plus I wanted to freshen the fluid. Then I loosened the two small clamps that secure the hose and slid the hose from the car. I reused the clamps and installed the new hose.
I refilled the reservoir with fresh fluid and will repeat this process a few times after some driving. I want to get as much fresh fluid in the system as possible utilizing this method.
With some tension on the old hose in my hand you can really see the poor condition of the hose.
The new hose installed.
My car is a 2002 with around 70,000 miles. I'm curious if any of you guys have had to replace this hose? If you haven't inspected yours, I would have a look to see if it is in similar condition as mine was. I'm going to inspect the rest of the power steering hoses when I get a chance.
