Free springs

I've swapped my factory springs for Vogtlands so - I have no need for the stock springs. Car had about 110K miles.

I like the ride height, and will own this car until I need diapers, so no going back...

I will give these springs to anyone willing to pick up or pay for shipping - call it $40.00 even.

Seems a shame to pitch these into the trash, but that's where they will go...

Did you have to change shocks too? I am deciding on springs at the moment. Eibach and Vogtlands.

No. You do not have to change shocks.

I will - still on the fence as which: sport Bilsteins for less $$$ or Konis, that are adjustable.

I'm happy with the Vogtlands. Same ride at lower height. Others might want a bit more firmness - I did not.

I just installed the Koni's (had to because the left front was broken) and will install the Vogtlands very soon. I agree, great choice on the Vogtlands.

MitchB,

Do you have any pics with the Vogtlands on your car? I want to lower my ride height, but I don't want the slammed look. I also don't want a harsher ride.

Sounds like the Vogtlands are good for a 1.6 inch drop. I may be looking for just an one inch drop, I'm not sure. Maybe I can achieve the look with just the thinnest spring pads, maybe not.

Did you reuse your spring pads? Are they # 3's? Did you do the install yourself? What spring compressor did you use?

Thanks,

ddb

I think I've posted two pictures - before and after.

Don't know how much lower it is, but it is just what I was hoping for. This car is a daily driver, not a show piece.
Since lowering, it rides nice and has never scraped the front.

I did not change the pads - front or rear. So it has what it had from the factory.

I changed them myself. I bought the correct spring compress-er, and it was not a quick operation, but doable. I have no further use for the tool(s), so if someone wants to buy it, ping me.

Thanks for the pics and feedback. The stance looks fantastic, and is exactly what I'm wanting too. I'm looking forward to the look and the compound rate offered by the Vogtlands.

Thanks again!

How is your alignment, did you need camber bolts F & R? original shocks?

Standard alignment done at dealership.

Shocks are old stock until decide which to buy...
