Tall driver considering W210 E55

Good morning forum,

Checking in today to inquire about fitting my 6'7", 35" inseam, size 16 shoe'd frame into a W210 E55. Looking for a new fair weather daily driver and figured I'd look to this side of the pond. I'm an American "sports car" enthusiast that has dabbled in the world of euro cars in the past. I've never owned a Mercedes.

I understand these cars are pretty rock solid assuming previous maintenance wasnt neglected so I'm not too worried there. I'm more concerned about my long term comfort in this chassis.

Any thoughts? Im tired of driving a full sized SUV in the summer or squeezing into a race car for a "fun" ride to the market.

Thanks in advance!

I am 6'1" and plenty of room for me. One of my employees is 6'5" and a reasonably sized adult can still fit behind him in the right rear seat. It has become my daily driver after I realized that it was much easier and cheaper to maintain than my A4. Try one on for size; if it feels cramped you might want to consider the W220 S55 for daily comfort. 99% of the performance and most of the reliability. The ABC body control is the only real weak spot, and expensive as **** to repair, but you can still work on it in the garage at home to save big $$$.

My brother who I purchased my W210 E55 AMG from was 6'2" and had plenty of room and wearing size 14's.

If you are looking for a clean, and proper sorted car let's talk.

I am your height and I feel I have a good amount of space in the cabin. If no ones sits behind you daily then you'll have plenty of room along with all the seat adjustment options.

If you find a car that has functioning Multi Contour seats, you have more lumbar adjustments.

An awesome car combining a comfortable ride with muscle flexing when needed.

I have to eat 55's one where the seat goes far back and gives me lots of room in the other where the seat doesn't go as far back.

I did some research and wrote to Steve a sort of famous guy in the Netherlands who modifies Mercedes Benz. He told me in an email that there is a little block at the back of the rail that prevents the seed from going back beyond the block. If you remove that lock the seat will go back further.

I'm 65 and I have a 36 inch inseam and I'm very comfortable in both cars. In the car with no block when I move back the seat all the way I can't touch the pedals.

One drawback, the steering wheel only comes out so far so you're always reaching your arms out to hold the steering wheel but when I drive my E 55 usually I grab the wheel with both hands!

Hope this helps

Phil
