Just entered the Twilight Zone today

Couldn't resist snapping a pic of the young girl rolling over 66,666 miles at our 1 year anniversary.

She's young, silver, and running strong. This is easily the best cruising car I've ever owned and its performance has embarrassed many a performance car. Since buying it a year ago I've replaced the ac compressor, the idler pulley, and just replaced the o-rings on the transmission adapter plug which stopped a small leak. She needs nothing now but gas.

Congrats! be safe and have fun. This is what's great about AMGs comfortable as Daily cruisers but extremely fun when you get on the throttle.

Thanks Solo.

Hey, any experience replacing the transmission adapter plug? The plug sold now was not compatible with my E55. Your experience may vary.

See my thread on this --

Hmmm, strange.
My Mercedes shop replaced the plug with the same part # A2035400253 and apparently had no problems.

Take a look here
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210...sion-plug.html

Also, from where did you source the plug/ what brand is it?
Part # A2035400253 must be compatible, otherwise EPC will not have shown me the same part number.

Are you having problems with these notches?

Yes, the notches were off enough to prevent fit. The part is from Pelican Parts. Pelican said there were 3 updates for this part.

The parts bag is labeled --

203-540-02-53/56
09 4313 40
Adapter Plug
20315A06

SA19K2

Appears to to be the latest part. Not a Mercedes part. Don't know the manufacturer.

The new part would not seat at all but the old plug went in easily. At this point I stopped before putting too much force on the new plug and damaging the adapter plate. Yes, the part may be the correct one, but at this point I thought it better to take the safe path and just replace the o-rings on the old plug. The plug itself is not a wear item, just the o-rings, so it can be wiped off and just reused.

You have a 2002 which may fit this part. Mine is a 2001. I know the part was updated 3 times.

The dealer that did yours may have just replaced the o-rings like I did. Job done.

I've seen many non-Genuine parts that do not fit properly, the measurements are not correct ->placing the notches a few millimeters will prevent installation.

I think this bloke had a similar issue :

Also, the conductor plate for our cars has the same part# for the w203, w211, AMGs & non-AMGs according to EPC. No difference between model years.
