Cylinder 8 Misfire
Hello all,
As the title states, I'm having a misfire in cylinder 8. My indie shop diagnosed it and told me it could be the plug, wire or the coil. So I came to the conclusion that I will replace the plugs with Bosch 7422's and wires with Magnecor wires myself. My question is, where is cylinder 8 located? So I can replace the coil. I don't want to replace all coils because they cost about 130 each. If anybody has a diagram or point me where I can find one, it's much appreciated
Thanks in advance!

-My advice is to stick with OE/Bosch wires, I had bad experience with Magnecor. The resistance is high, only worked for 6 months before starting to misfire like crazy and the mileage was all over the place.
-You can diagnose the problem it's fairly easy, just move the coil to another cylinder. If the misfire moves to the other cylinder you know it's defective.
-How are the valve covers? a leaking cover could let oil foul the spark plugs.
You can see cylinder numbers on the engine, 1-4 passenger side, 5-8 driver side. 4 & 8 are closest to firewall.
Good luck.

I got the code for misfire on #8, cylinder closet to driver. Sometime when I came to a stop the car would idle rough. Yesterday I swapped the coil pack between 7 & 8, cleared the code and went a for an 80 mile spirited drive. So far no codes and is running great.
Try swapping coils and see what happens.

Solowing- I will check the plugs for any oil asap. And as far as the magnecors go, did they throw any codes eventually? What exactly was faulty?
Zayed- thanks for your input. It definitely helps a lot to know the magnecors hold up as well as oem.
Wasp- I'll swap out the coils as soon as I get a chance. Did that clear your check engine light?
One more question, what is the correct gap for the plugs? 7422's come pre-gapped, I just want to double check

No codes, No CEL As soon as I installed Bosch wires all of that went away.
I think Bosch platinum comes pre-gapped? Check in the owners manual just in case.
