ESP lights comes on Loss of power
hi guys back to square one, i first thought it was my gearbox i recently fitted, then thought it was a vacuum leak which all came back clear no leaks and nothing wrong with the gearbox, ive noticed my ESP light comes on when i accelerate harshly and the car loses power like into limp mode, any suggestion on what it could be?

basically imagining me driving, i press the pedal in half way at 40mph to give it a bit of a push and suddenly the cars power backs off then comes back again then backs off again at that point the ESP light beeps on dash and sudden power loss onto limp mode no throttle response regardless of my putting my foot down no response at all

I would say check your ignition system misfire. How come you dont have CEL on? This kind of issue would have CEL on right away.
Only time I had MAF issue was back on my W202, same symptoms as yours but only difference was rpm jumping and engine was stalling. Changed MAF and everything was fine.
Why dont you try to accelerate the way you did but turn your ESP off

while you have fault with CAN communication, can't tell positively about anything, till solved the issue with (~CAN/BUS~) fault..!!
did you Reset these codes..?,
seems this is not MB/SDS isn't..??

this car has been a headache man, i guess this is what you get when you think your getting a bargain, paid £1500 for the car, £600 went on gearbox, spent another few hundred pounds on getting it road worthy and still spending £££. money isnt the issue its just the headache of figuring the problems

Sorry to hear that bro.,
little bit patient with Right diagnose tool, should to shorten this.,
(CAN/BAS) is main "Controller Area Network", that communicate with each applications of all Modules/computers AKA/circuits,,
if there are a bad communication with CAN, it will be useless to solve any issues in whole system..!!
if he can't Reset the system, prefer to use STAR/SDS, to assure where/which the bad communication circuit..!

When I get terribly confused on a problem I call Mercedes Benz. service department and tell them what is happening. Some Fella's are cool and like to give you their knowledge and opinion about trouble shooting.
Others won't say much even when you give them leads...they just say bring it in.
Independent Shops usually have Mechanics that like to talk like we on the Forum and give you their expertise.
If you have the ambition and are stumped on something- go- there and talk to them-the Mechanics-avoid the front desk.
Just be very polite. You will be amazed what GOOD info you can get without spending a dime.
I'm still on your problem and must think.
Getting leads from the Fella's here always helps.
