Suspension?
Hey Guys,
I'm planning to throw on some H&R sport springs. I would like it to sit as low as possible without rubbing, it looks like the drop is about 1.3 up front and 1.25 in the rear. I was told the spring pads can also be swapped for thinner ones for an even lower drop.
I come here for advise on the best setup and want it to sit properly, if you could let me know it would be very much appreciated! Also, i want to make sure that i am okay keeping the stock shocks on the car. My car has pretty low mileage and the current shocks are in good shape.
Thanks again,
-Rob

While I have not done what you want to do, from the extensive research, you should not reuse the stock shocks as they are too long for the aggressive drop you seek. Koni or Bilstein Sports are made for your mod. The stock shocks will bottom out or eventually kill your youthful shock.
If you are running aftermarket wheels (bigger/wider), you'll have to do some careful preparation to prevent rubbing by making sure tire width and ET are good as to not to rub the outer fender or the dreaded upper control arm bolt.
Also with such an aggressive drop, you may have tire camber issues front and back. Camber bolts up front and adjustable links in rear will help. There are also kits by K Mac by vendor on forum.

This is mine on vogtlands with #1 spring pads and stock shocks.
I am running 18x8.5 ET 38 with 245-40-18 contis and 5mm spacers on the fronts
no rubbing issues.
I have maybe 2mm clearance on the control arm bolt.

I don't think the stock shock will last. Just buy some sports and be done. I like the look with no fender gap so I run #1 pads with over a coil cut front and rear. Still drives great.
