Sounds like a box truck
Hello. My 2001 E55 was making a loud "air" sound (don't know how to describe it) similar to a box truck. I wouldn't get the regular V8 sound and would just hear air. The temperature gauge went past the halfway mark before (and during) it made that sound. Sure enough, the radiator failed at highway speeds and the radiator shroud broke off at the top (there was an explosion). The radiator is leaking heavily from the bottom. My car is also lowered on KW shocks and springs.
I am going to order a radiator from RockAuto but should I buy all the other parts because of that "air" sound? Can someone tell me what the hell that sound is?
Thanks

As i know; more air almost all the time, will affect the power due to RPM high range,
and that will also pressurizing the water pump pulley..!
if the part # not correct, it won't fit to your fan, even it if aftermarket clutch,
when you spen the fan, it should to give some Resist,,
"more Resist = good clutch"
"less Resist (more spen) = bad clutch"

I spin the fan and felt good resistant in both direction but the fan is just too loud. The more I step the gas the louder it gets. Is it normal the fan goes faster when I step more on the gas ? Thanks.

Yeah mate,
if there's a good Resist with handy spin, clutch should be fine,,
did you change or replace the fan before..?, is your fan got (9) or (11) blades..??
