Hello guys,

I am Metin I live in The Netherlands and a owner of a MB E55 1998 W210.
My differential makes noise and I have to change it. But my question is, is it possible to put a differential from buildingsyear 1999? My differential is 1:2,82 and 1999 also 1:2,82 but they have another part number. Can anyone help me?

I have a '99 but I am not sure they are the same. One way to check is to look at the driveshaft and axle components' part numbers. If everything that bolts up to the diff is the same, you should have no issues with compatibility.

If it would help, I can probably get the car up on ramps and take some pics of my differential tomorrow. It was a May 1999 delivery so should have the updated differential part number.
