New to E55 and center console questions

Hello everyone. I recently purchased a E55 but I need to have it shipped to my location so I haven't seen it in person. I had a few questions regarding the center console. I'm sure I'll have others once I have the car!

1. What are those lights on either side of the seat heater switches (see photo below)

2. Is there anything that is a good replacement for the comand double din radio unit that has bluetooth and also fits in the space? I have seen lots of posts on this but I wasn't sure if there's a best solution. I just need a head unit that has bluetooth.

Never seen those lights before. Guessing it's not OEM.

Those lights are for heated/ventilated seats, my 02 had them. Press the top to select the heated functions (two stages) & the bottom for the ventilated seat functions (three stages).

I have yet to get a stock command center trim piece, it as far as I know will fit any Double Din head unit with just minor “trim” gaps. The poster above is correct I believe, and those dots are for the quite rare ventilated seats.

My 2001 E55 had heated seats and did not have those lights.

Yep! If the seats are heated only, they will have the two red lights in the center of the rocker switch. Heated+ventilated are the only ones equipped with the lights on the outsides.

N/A (at the moment, just sold my car)
In for more info on the double din question. I may just go down and ask a few shops but I’ve also seen a few others online that say it was a direct fit (a lot of newer double din radios come with an extra trim piece to fill gaps) so I may just test fit some and find out
