I'm looking for a sub 80,000 mile 2001-2002 E55 to add to the collection. They seem to be VERY difficult to come by. Anyone interested in selling?

Nice well maintained low mileage cars always command premiums and people that look for those cars, know what they are looking for and don't pay much attention to KBB which is useless in limited production cars. Was there not a 1999 with 78,000 miles here on the forum that was sold within 2 days of posting for $13,500... I know I won;t sell my 2001 E55 with 74,000 miles for anything less than $16,000 if I ever decide to sell it... These cars especially good one's are very very hard to come by.

While KBB may work for common, mass market, and newer models. you can't use KBB to value a car like these. Not enough sales data to compile any meaningful numbers. It also doesn't do well on an enthusiast car. An 01 w/ 58K miles is likely worth every penny of that ask to the right buyer. For an 02 w/ cooled seats I'd have paid that.

LoL using KBB values for a W210 AMG is beyond stupid, just out of curiosity you should KBB a 2003 BMW M5 with 45k miles, while KBB gives it a $18k value those cars are selling for anywhere between $40-50K

You can also try out a Porsche 964 Turbo with 40,000 miles ... KBB is around $40,000 but the cars are trading hands at $130,000 if you can find one

1998 E55 AMG 99,600 KM SINCE NEW, 2ND OWNER, ORIGINAL, NO ACCIDENTS
Check out my 1998 E55 AMG posted in classified section today. 99,600 KM (62,000 Miles)....owned it for 5 years. Excellent in every respect. Price is 10,750 CDN which is approximately $ 8,000 USD
I am second owner. It's an excellent car in every respect.
Imported from Japan 5 years ago under Canada's 15 year rule. Unfortunately it cannot be registered in USA unntil it is 25 years old (build date August 1997) which means it cannot be registerd in USA until Aug 2002
If you are a serious collector willing with a long term vision this one would be worth a lot more in the USA once it becomes registerable
Just a thought

For $16.8k one should expect a pristine example with 55k or less. Definitely a good time to buy.

Don't forget to add in the $1,400 buyer's fee to that number.
If you win an auction we charge 5% of the final bid price on top of the winning bid, with a minimum fee of $250 up to $5,000 (5% of a $100,000 bid). The fee for sales higher than $100,000 is capped at $5,000.

That particular one caught me off guard! I had no idea the exterior color existed on this particular model. I personally feel it looks hideous w/ the two tone interior, but to each his own.
BAT must be doing something right. I’m still clueless about their niche in the car sales arena.

I think the car that Sean is selling is worth 17K. It has low millage, and a nice color combanation and as I recall it has parktronic and a V60 phone install so it will work with a bluetooth puck. they are not making these anymore. I think Sean is a car collector and I think it must be a cream puff. I wanted to inspect the car myself but I already racked up 89,000 air miles and I just don't have the time. I own two of these one with 70K and one with 170k miles the 70k car is definitely better.
I would go look Sean"s car.
Max Scroggs a Master Mechanic who owns A Better Wrench in NC is the only guy I trust with my old cars and he told me once, "Don't buy a car and fix it up... buy the best car you can and drive it"
Also FYI I have a 2002 with every possible option and I am asking 20K
