Looking at Mercedes WIS, it appears the N10-1 relay is connected to BOTH the front and rear light dome lamps.
Judging by your pictures I assume it doesn't have Parktronic (PTS). From what I read, the N10 relay controls several functions, some of which are rear defroster, interior lighting, and wipers.....

thanx for replying
but i need very simple information about the line of the pins
Simply if i want to put this part to another car which line i should connect with it.... I figured that the 1st and 2nd pins is GND and +12 ...but the other 3 pins i don't know...when I connected the 1st and 2nd pins its Light as stand by lights only but no buttons work

Looking on all data doesn't tell me much, they could be dummy pins or run down lines for the rear lights., another diagram says it powers the vanity lights.

I’m also trying to solve a “problem” I’ve had for a while...maybe a decade.

I have fitted 2108204201 into my w203 and the rear map light icon LEDs never worked.

I just “tested” this spare at the LED leads and illumination was present at about 10v. I stepped to 11. Then began stepping to 12, wondering if it had an inline resistor at that point. I got to 12v, and kept going as I know my car runs around 14.2 under load...At about 12.5v the LED popped. I know the vent illumination has inline resistors and take the system “12v” direct - these rear map light icon LEDs must be controlled by the PCB, with resistors there like the upper control panels, etc.

I like your part 4310-I wonder first if I need that.

I wonder second, if for some strange reason I need to get into DAS and tell the rear SAM that these lights are here, switch to “present” or “active”...

Any insight would be great!
Thanks!

I only have two pins - both are blue wires

Here is my connection from rear SAM to light PCB...different than yours...

Pulling the rear map light confirms just power and ground from rear SAM are supplied by my retrofitted wire harness...

So, I’m very confused - when I disconnected this (added) plug, I lost the map lights. I still had center light which retained OEM control by door signal and driver overhead control panel button.

With only two wires in the loom - I’m confused how the PCB in this rear map light assembly would know to activate the button ICON LEDs...

The OEM retrofitted w210 wire harness powering the two outboard map lights seem to only supply power and ground from rear w203 SAM...

When I added this w209 Distronic lower control panel into my w203, illumination (as well as function) all came together. I did have to tell the modules via DAS that the Distronic system was “present” or “enabled”...but again, CAN wires...

Just took a spare rear (203/209)SAM out to look at the socket - It had CAN pins at location 2 and 3...

SAM, REAR. 203-545-3401

Going back at this…
Anyone have any insight on getting these icon lights to illuminate with the other interior/indicator lights?!

Currently both looms supply power to the map lights themselves, the OEM one powering the main middle light and the one I added to the rear SAM powers the added map lights…

LEDs are hard soldered into the into OEM…
They just don’t illuminate…

Current plan is power the LEDs separately…
Even when pulling out the 3 other blue wires inside, they just ended with a small white connector not connected.

To the original thread starter,

*Update* to the three blue wires after the harness - they feed to the Parktronic PTS PDC and most likely tell it what to display and power the small warning piezoelectric warning buzzer…(when I received my sample, the wrecker must have yanked this plug end out initially (unintentionally) before shipping)

Be advised the switched map lights, operated by push button with “book and light” icon get power from the horizontal 6 socket plug, rear SAM in my w203 case, ground pin 1, power pin 2.

The center courtesy/entrance/main dome lamp gets power (again, in my w203 case) from the front upper control panel, smaller square plug, Brown/Blue pin 31 and Red/Green from rear SAM pin 30.

Powering the LEDs on the bench worked.

But power in my car with my SAM, could not be found. Apparently the two wires are only working as a latching relay mechanism to/for the SAM.

In instances with Parktronic, you may have power added when coded Present.

For me, I ran a separate set of wires to get the LEDs to illuminate.

12-14v on leads on bench illuminated LED.

No voltage at SAM, not with key on, lights on, door open, closed, etc.

No voltage I could read at wire harness to dome light end.

New wires ran to trunk area.

Function testing all aspects - all good!

Icons light up.

Glad you got it working! This was a really specific issue.
