W210 E55 rear end ratio change

Yep that's the car! Was a a front end wrecked car I picked up for $600 and this was one way to give it a new life. It's been a total ripper for years, even at almost 300k.
Anyways, Ok so C43 TCU, and then is the tune something I can just send my computer out to get tuned? or does the car need to be there? I'm in MN and we have some decent euro shops here that I may be able to get it done through in person. Also thanks for the quick reply!

No problem.....Such a fresh take on a w210. But yea you just remove the engine ECU and send it to the tuner and specify what you want done. So the car doesn't have to be there. I'd use the more popular vendors here as they are pretty familiar with the process.

Just making sure I don't end up with basically the same TCU currently in my car

do you by chance have the TCU number off your c43 unit? I'm finding a few TCUs but they seem to always get cross referenced working with e55s and e430. So they seem like they are just e55 boxes or clk430s etc. and they usually have the same 021 545 8732 numbers, and say they will work for c43s, possibly needed a flash. Finding a perfect 98-99 c43 take out seems to be quite the challenge so far.

bro, you thought the acceleration was to strong in an e320. Why are you even driving this car, if it’s to “fast”. You are worried about mpg. Buy a Prius or drive slower. You are asking dumb questions. You want to spend $1500 half the value of your e320 to get better mpg? And make it slower. Listen to the **** you are saying

Actually I’m not a bro sweetheart. This car belonged to my father who’s driven it since day 1, and lots of memories for me to give it up. It’s always been good to the family and actually is one of the fewer Benz that gives close to 30 miles per gallon. Oil changes every 5k and jus gone through a trans fluid change. It’s definitely one of the fewer old style benz’s that actually looks new today. It’s always been garaged kept and still is today under my ownership. With the pandemic going on, I can’t afford to buy another car. I drive daily around 160 miles to work each day. Didn’t mean to get you flared up with my response to your comment. Just that the comment you made doesn’t require much thought to it other than the fact it’s there to agitate others, it serves no point. Usually, there’s a reason why people choose to take certain routes, sure it maybe dumb to certain people, but works well for me in my situation. My husband will perform the work so just gathering some info as much as I can. Our cost projection is roughly around $300, parts only, so not too bad at all. I know a little about cars myself as I use to drive fixed up Honda’s and Acura’s during my late teens lol. Anyway, you take care.
