1998 E55 adaptive dampning system ADS 2
Hello,
I've got pre facelift one with a rare option, the ADS 2 (and rear self leveling like the wagons have).
So the ADS basically is a selectable confort/sport setting for the suspension.
Probably really nice in 1998!
But it is 2019 and the 21 year old shocks were bound for the scrapyard. So I've replaced them with Bilstein B8 with great results, no more nosediving.
The issue is that the car computer complains that there is a suspension issue. I enticipated this and had the ADS computer removed, it's just a big cassette really, thinking it would be enough.
Now what can I do to get rid of this error message? I've had the fault codes cleared but it persist.
I'm thinking that it can be coded out with STAR, but the car is ME2.0 so can someone confirm that it is even possible?
Or perhaps fool the car that the ADS shocks are still there by shorting the signal wire going to the front shock towers?
