So today I screwed up while doing my transmission fluid/filter change and accidentally got a very small amount of diff fluid in my transmission.
I totally forgot I had actually bought 2 quarts of diff fluid late last year when I bought 8 quarts of transmission fluid. I did a drain and fill on the transmission before putting it away, in anticipation of doing the full service today.
Well I opened the first bottle and poured some into my measuring/dispensing funnel to clean/flush out the funnel and tube. I let *most* of it drain out but obviously some oil stays on the tube. I then rigged it up onto the car transmission dispstick, I noticed that the color was off and I then opened the next bottle to check and noticed that I had initially opened the gear oil. Duh!
I then pulled the funnel out and flushed it through with some auto transmission fluid before continuing but I’m guessing some diff fluid went down the dipstick. Whatever was trickling out after flushed it.
I’m guessing maybe 10ml of fluid got in there at best. I was in a bind and had to continue the job since the shop I use occasionally is an hour away.
should I get the transmission flushed or am I being paranoid?
