Cruise control .... out of control

Hey all

So my cruise control is very intermittent. Some drives it works and other drives I get no response or some response. What I mean by "some response" is that it engages and disengages when I try and set it.

It's been very odd. If anybody knows what's up I'd be in your debt. 😉👍

Thanks for the help. Got the part and did the install. Working like a charm.

Sorry if this has been answered before:

I am new to MBZ coming from Audi adaptive. 2020 560
I have noticed something on distronic and would appreciate some help clarifying the behavior.

Scenario 1:
Activate distronic while vehicle in front.
Distronic indicator shows green car.
Maintains speed/distance, stop/go, lane change, the works
everything is normal.

Scenario 2:
Activate distronic while nothing in front
Maintains speed
Will not detect if a car comes into distronic range/vision and ignores new objects.

Is this normal behavior?

Thank you in advance.
