Are all W210 panels interchangeable?
Hi all,
So, I just bought an 2000 E55 with significant bubbling and rust as well as some dents and dings on the side skirts, most of the fenders, and the hood.
I had initially wanted to pull some of the dings myself, but gave up after about 30 unsuccessful minutes of trying to pull one of 20+ dents. I figured I'd go the more expensive route, and try to locate a part-out E55 that I could exchange some body parts with, which was also unsuccessful.
I guess my main question is, are all 96-02 W210 (E320, E420, E430, E55) body panels interchangeable? I know from reading on this forum that the E55 and Sport trim fenders come rolled from the factory, so if I were to buy a base model E, I'd have to get my fenders rolled. Apart from the fenders, are all other panels pull and plug? i.e. hood, trunk, and side skirts? I guess since mine is the face lifted model, I'd have to find a car that's 2000+ to guarantee a decent fit.
Hopefully I'm wrong, but I've found a decent shape 1997 E320 for $1k I'd like to buy to replace my panels with. Just wanted to confirm I could do it before I pull the plug.
Thanks.
