Also, which Ultra Racing braces were you able to fit? I see w211 and later E class part numbers from them, but nothing is listed as being w210 compatible.

With what mods? Why are people so afraid of mods? People mod 211s 24/7 no one bats an I at it. This car has almost every part brand new. Most every 210 you buy will have oil leaks and need a trans. Also these seats are 10 times more comfortable than the stock seats. Guess everyone who likes 210s are just boring ass people.
All of the mods. Not afraid of them, but definitely don't want the risk of undoing them to make it a CA Smog compliant car. I absolutely loved my 2002 E55. I swapped my secondary cats for an xpipe and that was a nightmare for STAR certification alone. Also, most of the modded cars I looked at before buying my current 211 were beat to ****. Not worth the hassle unless you are looking for a project car or can get super cheap. |
Reality check. And it's got 40k+ miles (118k true miles) less than yours. I own 6 Mercedes from 2002-2011. I'm quite aware of values in this era.

This will sell in the mid teens... unless OP does what he should and starts road coursing this car that he's already poured so many hours into! These aren't going to impress anyone doing doofus pull races on public streets, but they're underrated at non-autocross performance driving events.

I realize I will never get back out of my '99 E55 what I have invested in it. Just dropped another $2900 dollars into it which would bring me up to somewhere around $20K invested in the car (Hell, I would have done better buying a Toyota but in the end I would only have a Toyota and not an AMG). Having said that, I expect to run it another 150K miles and it will be as reliable as a Swiss watch (I understand I am dating myself to the youngsters). I didn't buy it as an investment; I purchased it spur-of-the-moment and learned to appreciate it. It would take another enthusiast to appreciate the amount of work that goes into keeping a car like this on the road for people in the future to appreciate.
Enthusiasts are not businessmen; no matter the cost, they're dedicated to keeping the car going for future devotees. |
Let me just put it this way.
I bought a 05 c55 with over 10k in OEM mods(factory addons) for maybe a few grand over market value....not even. Factory big brakes, factory euro bumper, kw suspension, folding mirrors....and some You simply wont get money you invested into mods back especially if its third party stuff. Now if you took that 10-15k and found a brabus 5.8 m113 and swapped it in...…Id be happy to buy that car off of you....:D |
