Just a feeler, possibly going to sale my E55
Just been thinking about it lately. Want to start something new. Price will start around 20,000. This is a 2002 with 161,000 miles. I will get a list of every part, and price and a total. Perfect interior. Again, just might sell it if someone is interested.

Quite a strong number.. Yea for to start somewhere. I know I won’t get that, but I’ve talked to a few people. They said they would start there also. A 1998 just sold for 44k. |
The last modified MB I sold had around $50k in mods alone and it was a $135k when new. It sold for $25k. If you find the right buyer, maybe $10k to $15k. Unfortunately, return on mods is very low to none unless you find someone who appreciates those mods. Seems the 210 E55's that command high prices are original and or low miles. Many will be hesitant to take on someone else's project unless the price is right. Not saying yours is a project, but many will see it as a Frankenstein and possibly less reliable. The seats are not to my liking but they are cool. The rest of the mods seem tasteful.

I'm in the market , buy excessive pimp action on this one for me.

If you had a stock 02 with $161k under $10k, I'd definitely take a peek. With those mods, at any price, no way. Good luck though!

With what mods? Why are people so afraid of mods? People mod 211s 24/7 no one bats an I at it. This car has almost every part brand new. Most every 210 you buy will have oil leaks and need a trans. Also these seats are 10 times more comfortable than the stock seats. Guess everyone who likes 210s are just boring ass people. |

I was actually pretty surprised at the lack of aftermarket support in general for the W210 E55.. It is kind of a bummer, but it is what it is.. it's a low & short production run car.. Hell the 50K mile supercharged W210 that sold for 22K on BaT is for sale still and has been for sale since last Nov.. and that can be had for 30K at this particular dealer.. and no takers.. Stock is where it's at it seems.. |

Seems to me, that most appreciate them for what they are. Even with the mods you've done, it *might* keep up with a stock W211 car, heaven help ya if the W211 has have even a tune.. It'd wipe the floor with ya. So.. That being the case, the people that like the E55, platform and want the "fast" one, they tend to go for the W211 cars.

I bet if you rag on that 50k e55 it will need a trans. Just saying, there is over $20k in this car, plus the service and maintenance items. Just figured even at 20k it’s a great deal for someone. And yes it’s about as fast as a stock c63 or 211. But still very fun to drive, extremely reliable and for the most part everyone loves it. I admit it was my boss who said post it at 25. I was going to start at 20. |

and thats why i probably will never sell my w208 :) i had offers to buy my car at a "very good" price (opinions quickly change after they see car in person and get behind the wheel), but when i looked at other cars at that price range it was not worth it. for me my price is 35-40k which i will never get.
eurochargedw210, i think 17-20k is doable but has to be somone local that can take car for test drive. |
$5K to $7K is about what this car is worth.

Cars like this are valued more when stock.
Realistic price for that car is in the 12-14k range unfortunately and thats with the right buyer that might take a while to find. |
I posted this before, hagerty has a valuation section. They show a 2002 E55 value as. $36.3 for concours….$26.2 for a #2 car(excellent)….$18.8 for #3 (good)….and $11.9 for #4 (fair). I know this isn’t gospel but it show that even a “fair” one should be above $10k…maybe we should be striving to stop thinking our cars are 6-7K and realize that we have pretty rare and well regarded cars and stop talking ourselves down as to value. Just because it was a 8k car last year doesn’t mean it needs to stay that way.

Theres always a buyer out there who wants the mods its just a lot harder to find. |
Future collectibles are usually under 30K miles cars and certainly not 60K + miles specimen. These are daily drivers so drive'm folks, they are awesome. I had an opportunity and still do, to buy a low mileage W211 E55 but i am more than content with my 83K miles 2002 E55 that i purchased 3 years ago with 63K miles. Love this car.

I'd sell my E55 for $7k tomorrow.

You have a PM.

I like it. Granted, I'm a weirdo who tracks a W210 E55. I really wish that I had those seats!
Did you get so mad at the Moscow Supercharge header install that you're selling the car? |
