Engine swapping a W210
Hi all.
The vehicle I'm talking about isn't really an AMG, but it involves the W210 Chassis, and the E55, so I'm posting it here, as well as the W211 E55 section aswell.
It's an odd question. I'm looking at an E430 with 145K miles, and it's in pretty good shape. No rust, no damages, full service history, owned by an Enthusiast, and now a collector. Here's what I had thoughts of, and I am unsure if anyone has even considered this. Say in a few years time, I decided to swap out the 4.3 M113 Motor for the 5.4 M113k, would that actually be possible? It's on my mind, since during the W210 era, AMG got the W210 Shell, and dropped the engine in there. The W210 E55, had the 5.4 M113. So my theory is...if the 5.4 M113 can go in the W210 chassis, could the M113k also go into the same chassis? This question might seem insane, but I thought it might be worth an ask, I'll answer any questions that I have a sure answer to, if need be.

I can't recommend him enough! He's my tuner for my my CLK M113K swap. He's helped so much along the way. But in regards to you question, Yes! It can be done if it has the 4.3 M113, its the same mounts, and trans pattern. You may want a beefer drive shaft though with that torque. Its surprisingly easy and have had no real problems so far.
