Audi RS6 plus vs. M5 E60 (video)
please donīt flame me for posting this video. its from the german "tuning TV" and the both testers let these uber-cars fly. *grin*
too bad they had no E55 to compare it, but also worth the download (18MB)

awesome video, although I thought the V10 would have a more mellifluous, deeper sound, and the exhaust sounds like an F1 race car(which could be good for some people). Awesome car though.....

I read from M5 board's member who speaks German, saying the RS6+ was flooring it. It passed the M5 until the M5 hit the limited speed. Frankly speaking, I doubt if the RS6+ was even trying. But if it was trying as they said in the video, the M5 is Fxxing fast!!!

With all those power at the Rear wheels, I expect the M5 would be very easy to lose the rear end without any electronic assistance. AWD cars tend to understeer rather than oversteer, I beleve it would hard to drift the audi unless you pull the handbrake.

on the autobahn-scene both car were floored, and we were very impressed how good the M5 goes away. but the RS6 is an old car, the new A6 is already been out. bmw would never release his new M5 if it couldnīt take up with Audi. the quattro-drive, plus 200kg extra weight worked against the audi, and donīt forget the BMW has 2 more gears.
the RS6+ overtooked the M5 only because he was limited to 250km/h while the audi does 280km/h.
like the testers say, its nearly impossible to drift with the audi. traction is great, but the rear-drive M5 is a lot more agile. drifting in the 3. gear is no problem. both testers are well known here und take part at the 24h-race at nürburg-ring, for sure the know how to drive.

Yap htey were affraid of engine blow up on M5. Its a concept you know. who knows at 280km/h M5 may fall apart.
Also I'm sure drifting is what everyone looking for in M5. You drift on autobahn practically every day. since when exellent greep is a bad thing? When was the last time you drifted? Can you delight us with a video of you doing it in whatever you drive? For a one time tester drifting may be fun but please link us here to a juicy posts from any M5 forum where M5 owners disscuss the joy of drifting every day.

I heard with the speed limiter on, the NEW M5 will hit its limited top speed @ 5th gear. So the extra 2 gear might not helped that much afterall.

Yap, yap, yap, yap, I heard the next issue Autocar coming out next tuesday will have an article on how M5's engine blew at speed of 250km/h and all concept M5's now on hte road
were instantly limited to under 250km/h and hte "POWER" button was yanked out of all of htem as well.
Thats what I heard , Autocar should be out Tuesday!
But we dont have to wait! I accept it now.

The extra two gear (well actually really is only one) are more for fuel saving purposes. The 7th gear is very tall. The chance of using it is probably 0. Then again, if the autocar tester stalled 5 time shifting from reverse to 1st really worries me. Which means I will stay away from the 1st build M5 (which is a must for BMW, since their car are now getting way too advance). Even the 1st batch from delayed US spec would probably be troublesome (2000 M5 has way more problem with engines and clutch than later M5).
To Delmonte mondo son, if you don't like autocar's number, go grab a gun and shoot them. Autocar is already out, moron.

It was simply amazing how fast the E60 M5 pulled away from the RS6+, (reminded me how those street bikes pulled away from me from street lights).
And I am with Zlaatan, this moron is actually making me laugh every time I read his post and am actually looking forward for his funny reply, keep it coming please!
