Diy headliner and interior refresh
My 01 e55 had the dreadful headliner sag thru my whole ownership. After holding off for so long I pulled the trigger and ordered the materials and tools needed to get the job done. With the help of friends and a few bucks I took down the headliner and refreshed the whole interior one piece at a time. A Rolls Royce light kit was added inside to go with the vip styling of my car. For anyone wondering this was my first ever attempt at upholstery work. With patience it could be done by anyone!
A break down of everything and some pics from the process !
Now the whole interior is free of stock grey trim pieces. Next is the rear shelf! Mine is discolored from the sun!
Quick video inspection to give a better idea of other trim pieces replaced.

I have a post on this forum somewhere about replacing the rear sunshade which involves removing the rear package shelf. You can expect it to fall into several pieces when you remove it from the car. I recommend industral adhesive and c- clamps and or weights to reassemble it.
You will need to remove the rear seat back and the headrests pop out of the hinges by releasing black plastic catches on the sides where the metal bars slide into the hinges. You will need to remove the c-pillar panels also.
