Leather seat cleaning and conditioning
The leather feels smooth and shinier, wondering if there's any clear coating on the seats and if Leatherique products were safe to use on them?
Thanks

Smoother and shinier leather typically means it's seen a bit of wear. Basically, the surface is a bit more "polished" due to the friction across the top surface. Imagine a shoe leather - you polish it up and it gets shinier. Same things happen from skin oils and such.
I mean, I guess it's possible someone has put a clear coat on it...
However, my 996 Turbo seats had shiny spots from wear, and after using Leatherique as recommended by Esoteric Detailing on Youtube, it turned out fantastic. Essentially, you want to saturate the leather with the first product (I think it's the Rejuvenator) until it can hold any more of that product, which can take 2-3 days of applications every 6-8 hours, then you clean off the extra and contaminants that have come out of the surface with the Pristine clean. Make sure you give a bit of time for the Pristine Clean to work, and then use a warm, damp, cotton-only towel to clean it all off.
Afterwards, the leather will look VERY matte in appearance, but should feel very supple. I recommend doing this 4 times a year, and more in the summer if your interior bakes in the sun.
Best to do the application in a heated garage, or outside on a hot day, so the pores in the leather open up and absorb the product.
