Here is a picture of a Lorinser roof spoiler but IMO it doesnt like right on the E55. It mounts inside of the black glass molding so the fit doesn't look complete. The bottom left of the spoiler still has a gap between the rear pillar and the spoiler. The CLK version looks better.

yeah, Lorinser makes it. CEC can get it. I believe it is around $400-500, then it needs to be painted and mounted.
it does mount on the rear glass as opposed to the roof. it is strong double sided tape...

the roof spoiler is a solid piece of material and it is a very strong glue/tape that holds it down. there's no way you can drill holes into the rear glass.
i don't think fitment or having it fall off is a concern (Lorinser is legit). it boils down to whether you like the look or not and if you're willing to pay for it.
personally, i like the idea of it, but i think the e-class is too big of a car/sedan for it. it looks great on a clk (the red clk at the irvine spectrum this past saturday had it)

I put one on my car myself. No tape. Just some sort of permanent glue with a primer first. Its not a perfect fit but it is colse enoug. It adds a touch of flair especially after one has lowered the car. I think it works better with the my 99 which has a a similar flair in the side skirts. I'll post pictures in due course.
