2005 E55 Inter cooler. Larger??

Is the front mounted intercooler on the 2005 E55 bigger than the 2004? I was at my local dealer today and the lot boys pointed out to me that the 2005 has a larger intercooler and I did notice it is bigger and seems to fill the front.

What is the deal and does it help any??

I can't really answer your question, but the intercooler is not on the front of the car. The intercooler is between the intake manifold and supercharger, on the engine. You're looking at the heat exchanger for it. I don't know the difference between the two, but bigger is always better.

I'd like to be able to read up more on it, someone told me that it shares fluid with the engine cooling system, if that's the case it would seem simple to seperate them and lower your temps.

actually the long cooler in the front middle part of the car is the trans cooler. the ic (has 2) that is fan assisted is behind the front pass side fog light. it does share the cooling circuit and evo is coming out with one any day now (upgrade that is)

I will be providing full review when I get a sec, but just got my car from Klemann....Stage 2..LSD and......this

***This used to be where my pic of my pump was....EVO rolled out their beautiful system today and it wouldn't be fair to compare what the Kleemann guys did only as a favor.... to a fully functional complete system***

They are in final stages of full intercooler mod for public, but for the meantime, they were cool enough to put the hi flow pump on for me. This pup moves 90 liters per min as opposed to stock around 15 I think and she is ALWAYS on. Stock moves coolant when temp sensors tell it ... then it's too late.

Anyway, benefits right now are that the car is 100% consistent. Right now, if you were to drag your car 3 times in a row, each run would get worse. We must have dyno'd it 3-4 times in a row running it up to 185mph and car stayed rock solid on HP on all three. 585HP by the way. F in thing kicks now man. No HP gain with just pump though, just consistency.

Nice setup... I was talking to Cory about this also. Your car must have been the one that was there when I was chatting with him.

Where is that pump located in the car? Is that shot from below the car?

Yeah it's really weird. Picture kinda disorients you. If you squat down right in front of the beast...pump is behind the lower left grill. You get at it by taking panel down underneath.

sweet! does it make a sound when on? youll probably see a better result in the summer. you know how your car feels faster in the winter because the air is denser? i bet youll get a similar effect especially if you lived in the stifling northeast humid summers.

Is it just me or is the pump attached to the bracket by a large metal hose clamp? I hope that it is bolted some where as well........

It also looks to be sitting on top of two squished pieces of radiator hose......

Easy ..easy.. you guys....brackets etc....all coming from Denmark soon. It'll be sweet, like others posted. Seems like EVO Klee and Renn all do nice work.

They only put it on because basically I begged and pleaded. They told me the same thing..."brackets.. hoses... coming outta Denmark soon"
