OEM Satellite Radio Install

Kicking myself for not getting the satellite radio as an option (other car has it and it's fantastic).

Anyone know the approximate cost of install and if MB dealer can effectively hide antenna without putting it on the trunk. I've done a search on the topic but with no luck.

I'm figuring since the option is around $700, the total cost to install after the fact will be about $900.

Any insights appreciated.

I've already talked to this bozo at MB of Manhattan who gave me a $910 quote over the phone, but didnt really seem to know what he was talking about and then said they HAVE to put the damn antenna on the trunklid.

Not sure on cost but the dealer around here puts the antenna on the metal support under the rear deck on the driver side. If you look in your trunk on the driver side you'll see two holes with a "bridge" between them. They mount it there. He said that there have been no complaints about reception. Less labor too.

Do a search on SAT radio, sirius, etc. There are several options for placement as well as different antennas.

Get the euro headunit, tv tuner, and xm via one of the aux inputs- it rocks.

Thanks

Appreciate the replies guys. And yes I did a search before and did find info on the alternatives for antenna install but just wasnt sure whether this could be done at the dealer.

Ray Catena in NJ puts the smaller antenna on the rear roof right in front of the nav antenna so I am going with it there.
