Started to redo the garage today (new floor)
I finally did something I have wanted to do for a while and that is put down some black and white tiles on the floor. Gotta finish it up tomorrow. Soon I will be painting the walls and putting up some cabinet units and maybe when it's all done, I will actually have a decent looking garage.

That floor looks gorgeous. Question for you. Where did you get the tiles? Is it sold in kit form somewhere? I have my garage floor painted but it looks nothing like that.
Also, I heard you have to wax the floor properly before using it. How did you go about doing it?
As for cabinets, check out Gladiator Garageworks by Whirlpool. Very nice stuff. You can order them through Sears pretty affordably.

The floor is cool enough. But when you color coordinate with your vehicle,
Just don't have a break failure and mess it up, OK (keep us posted on that one).

Tiles are armstrong vinyl tiles from home depot. I was going to go with race deck but the cost was just to much. Tile at home depot are about $.70 a sq. ft. As for waxing before using it, I have not heard about that. I know waxing though will give it a great shine, but it also says don't wash or do anything to it for about 5 days. I actually have some nice wood/formica/glass cabinets and drawers coming to me from my father's garage, he never uses them and is trying to clear up some space. Best thing, they are free! Should be nice when I get it all done.

If it's Armstrong vinyl compostion tile (VCT) like you see on the floors at Walmart or the grocery store, you're supposed to wax it because it's porous. You don't have to buff it and get the high gloss, but you definitely want the wax to prevent staining.
