should i take my car to the strip?
the weather is forecasted for low humidity and about 70 degrees.
question...with only 190 miles on the odometer and little experience launching the car, is it worth making the trip or should i wait to put on some more miles? ...i think my feelings are gonna get hurt!!!!
for those who think i should go, i need some good advise on how to launch.
from my experience so far...if i mash the gas from a dead stop, the car hesitates and seems to build power in first gear like a two stroke dirt bike...this is gonna kill my 60' times...and this is where most drag races are won or lost.
thanks in advance for your advice.

These things are such torque monsters that you can NOT load up the torque converter much like the other cars at the track without super sticky tires. Most guys just hold foot on the brake and give gas to only about 1000-1500rpms. Catch a good light and just let the wieght transfer back to the rear tires...it only takes a split second, then just mash it. That really is the trick....to let the wieght transfer back solid then let the torque take over. Punch it off the line and ESP will light up like fireworks show. It is a fine line to figure out, but when you can get that weight transfer to happen in a split second then mash it, you can just sit back...play with Nav, listen to some tunes or check your voicemail, cause the Beast will do the rest. Youll get a little tire spin, but not much.
Honestly....guys have tried everything, but most consistant is to leave car in granny mode on suspension (no 1 or two bars) and tranny on S. Car does the rest if you can get a good launch.
We had a guy who never dragged in his life and cut the worst light of all time run in the upper 12's (although really not related)...the he got frisky and tried ESP off and was all over the place on the track.
You will come back with a whole new love for this car.
Get ready for a lot of attention when you smoke guys that have put thousands into their cars.
Let us know how you make out.
