The E55 wagons being released are 2006 models. The CLS55 is a 2006 model and has the same engine as the E55. Based on this, I don't see any powertrain changes on the horizon until 2007.

Something on 4 wheels..
I ordered an MY2006 (see below) but I don't expect a huge difference betwwen these two MYs. As far as I know, no details (options etc.) have been released about the upcoming MY06. All I know (what my dealer told me) is that every ordered e55 will be a MY06 from now on.

Comparing the MY05 E-Class to the new MY2006 E 350, I don't see any differences at all (except this new engine).

It's just like getting a computer. They're going to add something every year just to keep people like us posting. The 2005 was supposed to be the same as the 2004 but they changed the center console and added metal pedals. Get the car you want now and you're that much closer to buying the next one. If you wait until 2006, you'll wonder why you didn't hold out for the '07.

Why speculate? If you always wait for the latest and greatest, you're never gonna get anything. The grass will always seem greener on the other side.

Life is short, and you can't always have the latest.

So go for it!
