K&N Install Question

I just put the K&Ns into my e55. I used the '04 'cause Performance Products didn't have '05s available for my '05. They seem to be the correct dimensions but I noticed that screwing the lid down it was pretty tight. I didn't see any grooves in particular on the lid for the edges to fit into. The filter just seems to rest on the little ledge around the square circumference and that was it. Should I be worried about the tight fit ? Thanks.

Thanks. No more responses needed. Apparently the distributor and K&N disagreed on the part number but K&N wins obviously. I have to send them back, they're about .18 too long and too wide. FYI, I'd check K&N website first when ordering these to ensure the distributor shows the correct part number

I'd get green filters. I installed them on my C55, and they are great, they fit perfect and can possibly have more gains then K&N. The C55 and E55 use the same air filter so i know they fit well.
