Header wrap?

Is this a good thing to do on KLeemann headers? I think it gets way too hot after hardcore driving and it let the heat come up to the engine bay that my airbox is really hot even tho I put some heat shield underneath the airbox. Before headers, it was very cool. What gives?

Kleemann header should reduce the heat not increase IT...

yes it's polished. But header wrap people say that it will reduce the under hood temperature by 50%. I think this can help to lower the intake manifold temp as well.

No. It's common knowledge that stainless headers will always run hotter than factory manifolds. However, if you mean to say it will be more efficient, well, in theory this is correct. However if the underhood temperatures increase by a large degree, the benefits might be negated.
One disadvantage is that in order to install header wrap, you might have to remove the headers. If I ever install headers, I will be sure I install header wrap from the get-go. I say try it and let us know if it makes an appreciable difference.

Headers will increase the heat under the hood. They are lighter than the factory manifolds therefore allow more heat to escape. I have Kleemann headers and paid the extra money for the ceramic coating to help keep the heat in. Exhaust wrap always helps. It maybe difficult to install given the clearance issues.

This is what I was trying to say. Did Kleemann send the headers out for you, or you had to have it done yourself? Did you have them previously installed without the ceramic coating? Was there any increase in underhood temps after you had the ceramic coated headers installed?

If you wrap headers the manufacturers will void the warranty on the header and they most likely will crack and fail very shortly. Not worth it for a street car. Ceramic coating them would help some.

I am sorry there is a communication problem. I ordered the headers new with the coating, it was installed by a professional and the temp under the hood did go up after install.
