Engine Temp. question

Was wondering if this is what everyone else sees. Almost regardless of outside temp. my car will be at 80-90 C within 5 minutes of driving. In another few minutes i'm at 100. I've never seen it go above, but it's always there. The other night came home from a 1 1/2 hr. commute in heave traffic and it was at 100 the whole time. Three hours after coming home I got back in the car, started up and temp was still right around 100. Should it take this long to cool down?

1. I think you are frefering to the coolant temp and that should be a constant

2. Engines hold heat very well due to their density, material make up and air tight void spaces. It actually takes around 10 hrs for your engine to fully cool down.

As I have been told by Kleemanns AMG 55 engine runs at very high temperatures 880 which is high for any car...This way the temp high in the mainfold, and the car passes the emmision tests...

I am thininking high pressure Water pump would help...headers even better...
