2006 E46 M3, 2008 E92 M3
First of all, the guy that borrowed it from BMW drove it to its max all day, (and this is even after it has been abused by several magasines etc), and it could still, with 4 passengers, keep up with the Gallardo from 50-250km/h.
Go read again, Gustav was alone when he ran the Gallardo. And we saw on video how M5 with 3 people beat the E55. There were runs with only a driver in the M5 too.

The two E55s (touring and sedan) didnt keep up with it at all.
What impress me Belmondo, that after all this time you have still not got it. THE M5 DID NOT KEEP UP WITH THE GALLARDO WITH 4 PERSONS IN IT. WHEN THEY "RACED" IT WAS ONLY THE DRIVER."

So hopfully this is the last time you post that BS. It is not true.

And its kind of funny to claim that BMW has only 1 press car.
I have seen several with different plates in it, both blue and silver.
They have several, and I will eat my hat if the car tested in Germany is the one Gustav had, not that it would matter much.

Many has been delivered, how many I have no clue but on the M5 board several members has takenn delivery.

And how many % of the M5 buyers are members of the M5 board to you think?

I would guess only a tiny small group compared to the total M5 buyers,
Hell even in Norway we have a M6 running allready.

BMW publishes monthly sales figures. There must be something available that shows M5's sold and delivered. Must be.

Jokes aside, I agree that you'd have to have 100's of runs to really determine which car is faster. I'd 'guess' the M5 only because it's newer - hell it should be the faster of the two. It also wins the ugly contest hands down.

Totaly agree in your point. Also it must be much better to win a race due to you capability as a driver than just because you had the fastest car.

But since this car are almost nobrainers to launch, As soon as you get the E55 of the line you could put my grandma behind the wheels and produce times equal to Michael Schumacher, same thing with the M5, hit a button full throttel, let go of the gear stick, and off you go.....
Needless to say, this goes for straigh line racing only

Well, if it is faster because it is newer, it still is faster right

Well I really like the looks if it, it stands out and are not boring.
Either you like it or you dont.

The E55 is a good looking car, but it look to me boring and looks like other cars. But thats just my taste, I tend to like cars that have some soul and dont look like every other car.
Like my old car, Eveyone has an opinion to the design of this, most off you guys probably gonna think it is puke uggly, but I just loved it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder. The look of the new 5 has still not grown on me since the car came out. I think the E55 is a very sharp looking car, but it looks alot like the 50,000 E class cars in my neck of the woods. Neither looks like a Quattroporte, which I happen to believe is one of the most beautifully designed sedans to have been introduced in the last decade. Just magnificent. Must be that Italian thing.

Your M is my FAVORITE car of all time - and I do not jest. People may not like the style, but it doesn't have a poor design line on it...

WHat are you talking about?? I said its same blue M5 in every test----you put out some 20 M5's , I say even hte guy at the "test" new that that same blue M5 was "abused" by "several" magazines. So there may be somewhere 20 M5 but only one blue M5 is given around for tests.

OK smartass, I just did. I just spoke to the project manager for the M5/M6 development.

They have 40 M5`s as Presscars running in Germany. So I guess you where a tiny bit wrong.......

So you are still the KING of the BS departement.....

BTW: I really have to thank you. Because this resultet in a factory visit at BMW M. That would never had happen if it wasnt for you.
I will go there Next week on Thursday. I will be able to drive the M5 and maybe the M6.

Do you actually belive that is possible. :p

BTW I will try to do that

My only worry is that my old ALPINA will fail me, it has developed a sickness and need a doctor in Germany to heal it. I leave on Tuesday morning and will have a trip of 1850 km to cover in 1 day to reach my destination. That is gonna be tough for an 22 year old car with a unknwon sickness.

Who did you spoke with , I did not see you naming the names.

In that case he said he does not share info over the phone with people he does not know. SImple as that.

Hey , if anybody here needs any info just call the BMW dude, directly, he'll answer your every question.

You dont know when to quit, do you...

I`ll give you a friendly advice...

Its better to keep you mouth shut and let people suspect you are an idiot, than to open it and prove them right.....
