and derek, how does rt NOT effect et? i dont understand.

Hey Man,

Was talking to Rick at the track and he said if we ever showed up on a Friday night and showed the crowd how we run in the 11's the whole place would go "Hog Wild" The majority of the cars that show up run in the 12's & 13's.

The timers don't start until you leave the starting line. Your ET will not suffer even if you have a RT of 2.2.

Peter, the timing clocks don't start until the car leaves the line. So you could sit there forever and your time down the track wouldn't be effected. I made a trip with my car up to 75 & 80 Dragway (between Gaithersburg and Frederick) last Friday night. The Friday night crowds are different. I had people almost laughing at me when the car was in the staging lane. After I made a pass I had mutiple people coming up to the car and taking a picture of the car. They couldn't believe a MB ran that fast stock. My car isn't running the times your cars are so I know they would freak out if they saw one in the 11's. If you guys want to go on a Friday night, let me know. Like I said, I'm pissed that I missed out on this one.

sorry about the 600hp figure. i thought chris told me that when his car was last dyno'ed that he was pushing 500hp at the rear wheels. my bad..my memory must have slipped.

on another note, it was great running with you guys. if we do another one, i'm definitely down as long as my schedule works out.

Same here Derrick. I go somewhat regularly and still get that. It's like an old 80's movie. I'll see a few guys watching the staged cars move up and then they'll see the star on the front of the E. One will point and call attention to his friends. They will all start to chuckle. Literally, they point and laugh- until they see it run.

I assume that means that the K2 was putting more HP & Torque on the pavement for it to be moving our 4300 pound sedan faster in that distance. I may be wrong but it seems logical. (It would make sense since I have my primary cats removed and Mike has his still on).

Sam your stock car was running strong and Chris from NY with his Renntech ECU/Pulley bested at 12.02. Jason with his C32 (Renntech ECU/Pulley) ran a 12.5 (Awesome Run).

Paul with his new 2005 E55 (800 miles) had never been at the track was getting into the 12.4 area.

Our CL55 was running 12.2's all day and it was the heavier of the cars.

It is great meeting local "nuts" and having fun with our family cars

BTW - Rick and Kim enjoyed our group and we have a open invite whenever we want.

Most of us had our suspension set to "C" mode with traction on and "S" mode for the transmission.

Thanks everyone for the great turn out and next time we will try and get a dedicated person to video complete runs.
It is all about the driver as I proved!!! I drove HORRIBLY and could not launch my car. I think I was actually not aggressive enough. 1st time like others and have heard so much about spinning tires, not hooking up etc. Spero, actually my best (should say my car's best with Peter B driving!) was 12.09. I am a little concerned with the trap speed (114 or so). Think I may have to call Renntech and send then back my ECU. Didn't seem as strong as the Evo or Kleemann at the top. Dyno'ed the day before: 460 rwhp and 490 torque.

CRUSHED!!! i mean CRUSHED my pal spero with his kleeman k2.

I think that last run that I ran the 11.93 with my front tire going flat during the run(only had 13 psi) when I turned off the track could of been a 11.8 or under. When I compare my 60 time of 1.815 to your 1.886 and I was always traping higher then you all day that would of translated into a kick-*** time.

Figures by best 60' time and I get a flat tire. I tried calling you earlier today when I was washing the car from all that brake dust. How is your front grille?

Next time inflate your front tires up to around 45 psi. Makes for less resistance going down the track.

Thanks for the tip. I had normal street pressure in all tires.

R U running DR's? Run the Dr's around 17 psi. If you do not have DR's, go get some. You cannot fully appreciate what you have from Kleemann without better traction. Even the PS2's do not do it justice.

Just drove with my street tires (SO3's) on my heavy 19" AMG rims and ran in the 11's without LSD. Since I have my stock rims, maybe I will get some DR's on those rears and put them on the car next time.

With DR's, a good burnout in dyno mode, and a decent launch- you should reduce your time by a good 2-3 tenths of a second.

Once my LSD arrives that should also help. What DR's and size should I put on my stock 18" rears?

If you make it up to MD you can go to the track that we just went to.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!! i hear ya!!! seriously though im getting my stock wheels powder coated then ill get dr's. i dont think im doing the lsd though. dont like the cheapie way klee does it, but charges 2.3k so ill just stick with stock. still waiting on evo's carbon driveshaft ive been asking about for a while to help a smidge. mike at the event has a 25hp exhaust mod for 1500 plus the ic from evo plus cf ds, plus stock 18's with dr's should hopefully get into the mid to lower mid 11's without nos.

Yo Bro,

I have been waiting on the OEM AMG LSD for the last 6 months. Let me know what type of DR's you get for the stock rims since I will do the same. We should see a big improvement

Mike has a great operation and does great work. He installed Alex's headers and did my lowering mod. He is talking about the high flow cats and Y-pipe that he did on his car for your exhaust.

My next two mods will be LSD & cooling

Are you running your dr's that low? I had them before and never let them down that low. With the dr's soft sidewall I thought you would get them to buckle in the middle with that little presure. Check your tire tracks and let me know. Not second guessing you (you're da man), just curious what you guys are doing.

I actually think I need to lower it to about 15psi pre-burnout. I want to launch around 17psi and they hook optimally at 160-180 degrees. If you are at 20psi pre-burnout, then you are definitely over 20psi at launch.

I know those guys. I bought a shifter from them for my M3. Also, I have my Mustang dynoed right behind those guys at Maryland Performance. I will have to give him a call and see what he can do for me. Thanks!

2005 Brilliant Silver E55
Spero, crazy at the office...will call you this week.

Chris, I don't think trapping at 114 is necessarily bad, that just tells me you car got out of hole real well. If memory serves me right the ET was something like 1.71 or so which is like super awesome. My car's best ET was 1.87 and I ran a 12.2 @ 115. Kleeman did state to me that my ECU needed retuning since they needed to change the timing on it due to the headers (duh on my part) I should see an increase...actually all this doesn't matter, I'm going to sell my car this week. Don't know what I'm getting yet. I was thinking of the SL600 and add SL65 rear Diff, and Renntech tunning. That car should be pretty strong then.

Spero, yeah man I think I'm gonna sell the CL...wish I could take out the LSD in an inexpensive way but unfortunately it isn't. I told Ustino to give me at least $90K for the car so we'll see...$85K was a bit like a kick in the *****.

BTW, it was nice meeting everyone. Jason, I swear if you ran 2 more times you can get your car into the 12.6. Your car seemed to get faster and faster.

Oh, I have not washed my car yet since the track...all this rubber stuck on the rear bumper....hehhee.

haters crazy
I'm guessing E55 power is Alex. You seem to switch cars every couple of months, u must be PAID! Anyway, An SL600 with SL65 diff and renntech goodies would be SICK! Can't wait to see that. And by the way, Jason did run a 12.5 on his last run. His intake hoses had fallen off and thats why he was slower at the beginning of the day. Once we put it back on he was running strong. I think a couple more passes and he would've broke 12.5!

I was thhhiiisss close to having Kleemann install an SL 65 LSD rear in my beast....we decided to scrap it when they had to order new half shafts for it and it would have taken more time.....if you have the $$$$$$ call Klee....they can hook you up. Gonna cost though. They were cutting me a deal if you can believe it for 4500$ for the rear alone...no labor and no half shaft included in that. Benz.....you sure pay to play.

Maybe give Cory a call and see if they got rid of it yet??
