It doesn't work the way it is.

Only hope would be to get an all silver (not all chrome) grill. The slats need to be silver with or without chrome edging.

Otherwise its back to black!

There's a place around here somewhere that does some pretty funking stuff, but I haven't contacted them yet.

dear god
Go put ur regular grille and star back on. You are adding too many controversial accessories at the same time.

The silver mesh doesn't look terrible but I'm not liking the look of it coupled with the CL style grille

If they can chrome plastic, they can chrome your grill.

Call Jon Reed @ Sport Chrome. I think their website is www.sportchrome.com

Houston, what kind of wheels is that? I like it, very clean! The painted mesh for the fog light is cool, middle grill should be left alone IMO.

I guess different cars do it different justice..
I will wait til I get it chrome or polished silver .. Polished silver, chrome.. not quite but almost the same.. I prefer polished silver... I truely don't think it's adding too much bling... I just think with the car being silver and all the chrome already, black is just out of nowhere.. If the car was black then I would definately leave it alone... It just seems the black mesh is just the odd thing there.... But it's true that the black does add dept... I guess we'll find out when I go ahead and do it..

ps. I took another look at it and it doesn't look all that awkward... It looks damn nice the way it is now..I still do prefer the polished silver tho... I guess staring at photos really don't do it justice.
Call me crazy but the first car is a Murc, but the second car looks like a gallardo?

I think I would do a matching color on the mesh. However, I would ditch the CL-style grille. The front end looks too busy with it. What kind of wheels are those, BTW?

CL GRILLE:
I too don't like the CL grille. I bought it from www.autoblz.com. I find that the star is too big. What I hate the most from it is that it the star is not flushed with the grille like the OEM style. It looked good til I seen it in real life. I personally like the OEM without the star makes for more of a sleeper and cleaner look. Maybe a smaller star would not look too bad but then you'd really have to see it in real life on your car to really know.
I am going back to my stock OEM grille.

MESH:
I also dont' like the color of the mesh too much with the silver that was painted. Maybe if the color was color matched to be brilliant silver it could possibly look different too. But it is all trial and error til you find out which looks best. I think I'm either going back black but I wanna do it in like a GUN METAL color first to see before going back to original black.

WHEELS:
I had driven my stock AMG OEM wheels for a few thousand km's and a friend offered these ones that I have on now. He Had them on his E. I got a steal. $1500 Canadian with tires. I figured, since my OEM AMG wheels were in perfect condition, I'd buy these ones for the winter just in case I ever, or whenever I sell the car, I would put the OEM factory wheels back as ppl who buy used vehicles would rather buy cars with their factory parts or original wheels. I'm happy I did that since I have a few curb rubs on these rims and not my oem ones. I don't know the make or name or company, all I knew was they fit perfect and they were cheap with rubbers and perfect for the winter. As well perfect til I get my good ones. I also have them sold, but am not taking them off til I give John at CCW the go on the SP500's that I was waiting for him to finish up and have all the correct configurations. It's summer now and I can't wait to get those SP500's on my car.

LAMBO:
Yes my mistake. It's a gallardo, not a murci. It was already mentioned on post #17 on this thread by MBE55AMG

Edit: The grille is for sale if anyone is interested...

Just thought I'd chime in... We went through about 7 coats of silver before we got to the point where it looked like it belonged on the mesh. It will get there, just takes some time and some paint

Don't know if anyone notices. I have my clear side marker lens on and the mesh has been painted sort of a silver gunmetal. I really like how it looks compared to the silver. The mesh will be back to the shop for the full paint, about 7-10 coats.
