so i tried to be smarter than amg...

watching drag racing tv this weekend and saw a guy who runs denso iridium plugs and claims a tenth in the quarter. so i rush to the plugs.com and order up a set. then called evo on moday to talk about another order, talk about plugs and hear...you know mike thats a good question. we actually found out through dyno testing the car already has ngk iridium plugs from the factory but they are made specifically for the e55 and cannot be advertised as anything other than mb e55 plugs, and, outperform the denso's...anyone need a set of new denso plugs?

I wouldn't run densos. People in the domestic side have had a lot of problems with the porcelain tips falling off and going into their engines. I run NGK, just like you guys.

If your'e looking for a "trick" plug to pick up a few HP, try "Brisk Racing". They make some wacky looking stuff, but it's been dyno tested to make HP. Be prepared for a big price tag though. ( www.briskusa.com )

on the same note as that...many people tried the brisk plugs with claims of HP and have had nothing but problems and sometimes engine failure with them.

Yikes, haven't heard that!! My only real independant info on them was from a GM High Tech Performance mag. article where they did a head-to-head dyno on a mostly stock LS1 camaro against new NGK plugs. Gain was a little over 3hp and 4lb/ft.

Just their extravagant cost alone makes them not quite worth it, but if you have to contend with the possibility of huffing a motor too, then fooey on that!!

I know everyone has an opinion on everything but I truely believe that for the money you can't beat a basic NGK or Autolite plug. Denso's are OK, but they fall apart and are really expensive.
