I've got both manuals here, and according to the specifications, the M6 is 45 kg lighter - that's only a little over 100 lbs. Even at close to 200 lbs, that's only one passenger, or a tank of gas differene - not much. The main difference is the lower cg - that gives it better road course performance. The straight line performance is basically equal - same as the difference between the 645 and 545.

The M5 is just very very fast car..

Not much faster..they are almost identical..sometime who get the jump and just stay in front by a nose..The SL55 felt faster over 200 KM/h.. i really like the E55 but the SL55 is something special.. The engine and exhaust note is the something i miss after i sold it
