buying an E55

Hi, I am a newbie and would like to ask you some questions regarding E55. I have 65K to spend and I am wondering what year/mileage E55 I should expect to buy. There was a 2003 E55 with 13000 miles on sale in my area for 64k. I was gonna buy it this afternoon but someone bought it this morning. Extremely frustrated with this cause yesterday night, I could not fall asleep due to the excitement

So my questions are:
1. what would be a fair price for 2003 E55 or 2004 E55 with less than 20k miles
2. IS there any issues that I need to be aware when buying a used E55 (such as supercharger)
3. There is a 2005 CLK55 with 7000 miles for $63900. I am tempted to just buy this one. Good idea?

Thanks for reading my long post

Sorry, no idea about valuation... from down-under. What options??? Ask about an extended warranty.
I would say the E55 seems to be pretty reliable. Check the servicing etc

The E55 is a bigger faster 4 door car, the CLK55 is a nice sexy coupe - not close on performance or interior space. If you will regularly have more than 2 people in the car get the E55. I sold my CLK430 because I got sick of getting the kids in and out of the rear and as they grow the back is a bit small for longer trips.

hope that helps.

Keep fishing for E55, you won't dissappointed. It truely is an supercar. The later in production the better. The earliest cars are always more glitchy than later models. Clk performance is OK but not in the same league as the E55.

E55 all the way. I would say look for a 2003 since the 04's in my area are in the mid $70K's. Sounds like that was a steal for a 03, sorry you missed it.

hey kbk,

Never, never, never be in a rush to buy...just be READY 2 BUY....there are deals out there, it's like fishing....

Wait it out and you'll be rewarded...in the meantime, read this forum and educate yourself on the accessories you can implement and drool over...it'll keep your excitement up.

65K is a nice change....the 06s are going to be out soon so you'll be able to get a good deal on a 04.

:p

E55 hands down. You will end up regretting it if you got the CLK55. As CLK55fan said just wait the exact car you want will come. It took me just over 6 months to find what I was looking for. I read a lot of posts on this board that help my decision as well. I know what your feeling, it was very frustrating to have to wait, but in the end it was worth it.
