Forbes says 2004 E class is unreliable....
Probably no surprises here, but Forbes just released a report on 14 unreliable luxury cars.... 4 MB cars make the list including the 2004 model year E-class. Here is what they said:
In model-year 2004, the Mercedes E-Class had below-average reliability ratings for its electrical system, air conditioning, suspension, brakes, power equipment and body hardware.

I've got an '04 E55...I had some problems early on such as airmatic failure, transmission issues, noisy brakes...but they've all been taken care of and the car has been trouble free for the last 6 months. I couldn't be happier. Compared to my BMWs (745Li and new 3 series)...this car has been a dream ownership experience.
