Header Coating

Got my hands on some Kleemann headers, but I dont believe they were coated. Does anybody have experience with header coating companies?

Congrats on the headers! And yes they are not ceramic coated. Check with Cory if you'd like them to be coated. He knows a good shop.

I've used Jet-Hot a couple times and can recommend them. The image below is from my current project and represents a sample of their work. The apparent scuffs and scratches on the tubes are actually reflections of the chassis. Whomever you choose, be sure to coat the inside, too.

Congrats!! Those headers didnt by chance come from eBay did they?? I tried to buy a set and sent an email to the seller about the missing downpipes but never heard back from him.

I wanted to buy them to test the differences between them and the Evosport...

Do us a favour and do a before and after dyno with just the headers.. I am very curious as to the power/torque curve with those compared to the Evosport that I have currently.

Oh yeahh.. re: coating.. you can send them to Jet-hot for the coating.. or talk to Cory as suggested and send them to the shop that they use.

Yes, these were the Kleemann headers that were on ebay about a month ago. According to the seller, they were off one of his customer's cars who decided to switch to an all Renntech package. The downpipes were included, they just werent in the pics. As soon as he told me this, I made an offer and he ended the auction early.

I saw in your other post that I might get a check engine light. I am going to talk to a local independent M-B shop to see what can be done, or I might just experiment with an O2 sensor simulator.

I am thinking of going the same route as you, as far as waiting on the pulley and ecu until the end. However, I am thinking of just finding out which Johnson pump to go with and have my friend CNC me some brackets and install it locally.

I will try to have a before and after dyno. However, it is going to be awhile since I will be travelling quite a bit in the near future.

I am looking into the HPC "E" series coating. Anyone have experience with this?

Sent you a PM.

Glad that it was a board member that beat me to them... I was so anxious to get them because all I could think about was HEADER SHOOT-OUT! I was going to take the EVO headers off and install the Kleemann headers and do another dyno to compare the power they make.

That would end the header debate and give some solid data on the differences between the 2 designs.

If you really just want the Johnston pump, I am sure EVO or Kleemann will sell one to you.

My highflow cats are on the way. I should have them in my hands by Friday. Will try to install on Saturday and finally get an answer on the check engine light issue.

I'll share whatever I find.
