Once you find the source or point where the hot air is leaking in and get it sealed off. I've use / installed this thermo blanket , on my 5.5 N/A mtr. it seems to help at the track & in slow stop & go traffic

I've got that stuff all over my engine compartment... ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The picture on the right .... the objects on either side seem to be the bottom of the air intake boxes.. That's a nice application job.. It's all one piece.
Is that a picture of your intake boxes? What is the piece in the middle?
Any tips on how you managed to cover the boxes in one nice sheet...
Looks good!
also, is yours peeling ? I've done every bit of prep I could and mine are now peeling back and delaminating..

Heat barrier
I added a picture. If you look close it 's 2 pieces . This was my 2nd one I did. and you are right about the adhesive not holding , the 1st one I did , also peeled at the seams & edges . So I fixed the 1 st one and did this one (2nd) with a lock tite super bonder w/ jelled formula You can get it at any Evinrude or Johnson outboard dealer . P/N 509955 . Called Ultra 1500. I don't know the Lock Tite part number .
it is a 1 oz bottle . You can draw a nice bead with the tip. When it cures , there will be some white dust . I think from the etching acid in the glue , but it wipes of with a clean ragg & alcohol
