Automatic Window Close doesn't work

Well, I learned something very interesting doing my ipod install. If you disconnect your power to your vehicle (battery), your windows stop automatically closing (drivers side button, second click when you pull on them).

I had to break out the car manual to find out that after closing all the windows, you must then pull up on all 4 buttons at the same time for at least 1 second. This re-synchronizes the windows and enables that feature.

Very strange thing to find, but hopefully this helps someone if they run into it by themself.

They will also reset themselves if you give it time. Mine have done that in the past after I disconnected the power and they returned to full automatic operation in a couple of hours. Sometimes the front windows corrected first and the back windows corrected a little later.

You can have other problems after disconnecting the battery as well. Sunroof, ESP, etc. If I need to do something to the car, I usually connect a trickle charger for one of the toys in the garage before disconnecting the battery. Not enough current to hurt anything while you're working, but the ECU and everything else stays happy.

Isn't this outlined in the owner's manual? I swear I saw a pageon how to reset everything when I replaced my battery.

outlined might be an overstatement. there is a page in the back, but thanks to you i looked it up.

you have to resynch esp, the side windows and the panorama roof. just for the record, the panorama roof fuse is either 54A or 54B.
