Stopping power...

Hey guys,

So I was wondering... is it possible to put a Carbon-Ceramic braking system on the W211 E55?
I'm not sure Brembo has developed one yet, but they do seem to have one on BRABUS CLS55 "Rocket"...

Any clues?

A few members on here have installed carbon-ceramic pads. They should be able to give more informationm, but yes, it's possible.

A couple of months ago I ordered two complete sets of EBC Red Stuff Ceramic pads.(One temperature grade higher than Green Stuff)
They are still being made in the UK...yaaawn! They are waiting for 12 orders Worldwide before they will put them into production. Maybe we can do a group buy to speed things along?

BTW, I think this thread was about ceramic ROTORS like the optional Porsche ceramic brake system?

Thumbs up Porterfield !!

Rafal - I highly recommend "Porterfield" Brake Pads. They increase the fiction at the Rotor 40% and do not fade. They also will make any Pad you want in a Very short lead time.

Dakrisht - I would try the "Porterfield" Brake Pads first and see if they will meet your needs. I know that I was very supprized at how much of a breaking improvement they made.

Good Luck - - Bob

I seem to remember that I did contact them a few months ago and got a knock-back. They only had W210 at the time? I will try again. Thanks!
