Dang Neal, that is one sick looking setup.
It's 3000$ for both parts?

What is 10-20lbs compared to one "supersized" fat-*** girlfriend weighing 200lbs? The E55 does not notice the difference in performance with or without passengers. Even a half full gas tank will save more weight than all the C/F parts you can buy!

A silver or black CF hood would be awesome. Since I can't make up my mind, I'd be in for either one. Let's get her done. If everyone who said they were "in" ponied up the money in advance with no refunds, I'm sure we could get Neal to make them for us at a smoking price.

I care! I think you need to do your homework when it comes to weight savings and performance.

Oh really? How often do you track your car on the drag strip or the circuit?
I do it regularly. I am all for weight saving but it is pointless to spend thousands to save a few pounds when you save only a small percentage of the 4000lbs.
Your car has so much torque, it will never notice the savings, but your bank balance will. Do the mods because they look good, and make you feel good. Don't fool yourself that you are making your car go any faster.
I clocked my car 0-100kph and 1/4 mi with a full tank, with an empty tank, with and without a 180lbs passenger and guess what? 4.5-4.7 sec 0-100 and 12.3 -12.5 sec 1/4 stock, often quicker with the extra weight, due to better launch traction.
Go then and "save " 10lbs by paying $2000!
If you really want to feel the difference, do it to the unsprung weight with the EVO rotors ($1500) and forged wheels. They say it improves in handling and ride. I haven't tried it yet.

Really!Drag strip almost every weekend. It is pointless to spend thousands on a "few" lbs, thats why I asked the original question! What does it weigh? A few lbs here and there all add up in the end,if thats your goal.10lbs for 2k,is that anymore rediculous than 4k for shorty headers or 4k for stock reworked pellies? No its not.Quicker can be done with better traction devices such as tires and suspension mods, adding extra weight to the rear isnt the answer, moving weight from the front to back is acceptable. The car is no different then any other when it comes to weight/Hp ratios savings.I do agree that unsprung weight is the first that should be done.

Ok, you have credentials... I am not trying to get into a pissing contest here.
All I am saying is that it's pointless spending thousands on a fractionally lighter hood, as it won't make your car go faster in a straight line or around corners.
Spending that kind of cash on pulleys, headers ,ECU or light weight brakes and wheels will produce immediate and tangible results.

If you have a black car and like the C/F bling look, do it for that reason, not for performance. When you have a head-on crash, make sure you duck very quickly, to avoid doing a Marie Antoinette impersonation

I also am not trying get into a pissing match but I would never know what the weight saving would be on the hood if I dont ask, right?

Point noted on spending thousands on something fractionally lighter, but if I was going to have a girl land on me...I'd rather she be a lite one instead of a heavy one!

Stock aluminum hood is 30lbs. The CF hood is 15lbs.

Also wanted to add the price of our CF hood will be going down to about $1,500 in the next few days.

Neal - do those CF hoods come in silver or just black (I'd love a silver one)? Is there a depression for putting on the hood emblem (it doesn't look like it on the picture on your website)?

Also, any update on the rear diffuser valance?

The hoods are only in black CF now. We have done the hoods with the hole for the emblem, but most people didn't like the way the emblem looks on the CF hood. So we did it without. I think it looks cleaner without. But if you wanted it, I can probably have it done again with the hole.

The diffusers like I have mentioned are not as easy as we originally anticipated. Wrapping the stock parts in CF is almost impossible since the part is to flexible. But I am trying to do it a different way without making a mold which would make things to expensive. I will be sure to let everyone know if we come out with one that I like and is a quality part.

No, I do not have or probably will not have any pics to show until it is ready for sale. If you are talking about getting the Brabus CF lip, well ours will be less then half that price.

I'd say probably not in silver. Its very hard to do in silver and still come out perfectly.

That is the one I am wanting, as I do not like the add-on look of the Carlsson, so that is why I asked. Do you know when you will have yours ready? I'll wait to see it if you say it will look "integrated" and be soon?

I don't suppose you need a "dummy" with an E55 to test with??
