that was an amazing run!!!! congrats on succeeding your goal and sticking to your words-- i.e. giving up the NOS after you broke the 11 second barrier. you are a man of your word and a stellar representation of a class act.

Chicago also acknowledges our fello E55'er in Florida for his accomplishments! Great job Derek! I'm definitely going to save this one as a favorite!

Derek:
Congratulations.
I understand your decision to retire the car; like retiring a thoroughbred -- it has done what was asked of it.
At the same time, I'll miss following you in your E55 quest for speed. I've learned a lot from following your efforts and, while I only make it out to a track on an occasional basis, I have made steady improvements as a result of your comments (along with others).
Thanks, and congratulations again.
Mark

Did you use a pushbutton set-up, or TPS switch?

cane hauler goes under 11 secs
What is great is Derek's work at breaking thru a traditional mindset for many that think MB's are expensive, highway cruising, cane hauling, stuffy, big German four door sedans.
After Derek runs many at the drags discover for the first time that his big German 4 door also "REALLY hauls the guy that owns the cane".
ps cane comment only for effect, congrats

Greg, yes he did.
Thanks folks.
Sarge, that was AMEN in his E55. It seems that my car somehow tripped both lights and thus he didn't get a time. He was definitely flying.
