why the sudden interest in this road test? it was in the september issue, fer chrissakes. "i feel like i'm taking crazy pills or something!"

i was at the newsstand the other day and noticed that another of the major car mags has published a road-test/throwdown between these two (and an S4 or something) this month. can't remember which one, but i'm planning to go back and pick it up. i sort of expected the buzz to be about that article (not that it differs all that much from the one at the link... more pictures, maybe is it), not the one from a couple of months ago.
but this article (whose issue of the mag is tucked in a drawer at home at the moment) was one of the last pushes that threw me off the cliff into the ownership experience of the fine AMG wagon. they hit all the right notes in that article and sold me but good!

all i know is, i just finished the break-in period on mine and i'm aching to get out on a certain stretch of freshly paved, perfectly deserted highway 66 that runs between peach springs and seligman AZ and feel for myself what this thing's capable of...
