Thanks guys. I couldn't be happier with my choice of the Z06. I thought for a moment, yes only a moment, that it might be not as great as everyone said.... But then I drove it and it is so much better than anyone could ever say.

The drivability around town and the mean exhaust note, without the fuse, is crazyy...... It drones at higher speeds at that right rpm's, but since I have the E I won't be going on long trips with it anyways. I only turned on the radio twice maybe for all the miles. Love to hear that great American LS7. Car= Pure Sex, at least that's what my girlfriend has told me..

For those of you who don't really know about the fuse thing, it is a switch that opens and closes the baffles for the mufflers. WIth it in, you have to put the car up to 3500 rpm or 35% throttle for them to open and it makes the exhaust flow right through the two middle, thats why they are blacker than the outside for those of you who really look closely at the pics.

Latest completely stock Z06 tested is running 120+ mph trap speeds in the QM.
Based on:
Temp: 40°
Humidity: 50%
Track Altitude: 86 feet
Pressure: 30.1 in.

Density Altitude = -1325 feet

Uncorrected 11.69 @ 123
Corrected 11.83 @ 121.5

I have been agonizing over the purchase of a C6 Z06, since I already have a C5 Z06. I keep telling myself that it's just a need to get the latest and greatest 'thing', but every time I see pictures of the car, I feel like I have to get one

Congrats on the new car, for a stock car, it's a beast!!!

I haven't driven a C5 Z06 extensively but I have ridden in them quite a few times as well. The C5 is a great car, pulls so hard and perfect for what it is. I think the new one is absolute overkill but they do it so well. The exhaust note and the way it pulls from any speed at any rpm is nuts. I have never felt such power at the tip of my foot with any other car. I have driven Turbos, my E55 of course and other vettes and driven a 575, Those are the ones I can think of that are up there and just the way the LS7 sounds and the slick gearbox is icing on the cake. The really cool part is the fact that it acts like a normal C6 around town. I have driven it in traffic and absolutely no problems. Everything works great and the seats are great, comfortable yet still there to support. I know they aren't AMG seats or Viper seats, but they are damn nice.

If and when you decide to get the C6, I know for a fact you will be happy with the decision. Every time I get in the car and start it up and feel the car shaking from side to side, it puts a grin on my face from ear to ear. :v

With all this hype abut the new M5, the Z06 truly lives up to the hype.

That is awsome, I think the Z06 is the car of the year for speed. How do you think it will do against the new e63? Looks like you live by the beach!

yes i do live right on the beach, not too shabby if I must say.

The Z06 is absolutely phenomenal for speed and handling. I still haven't even felt like I have pushed the car at all. This car keeps wanting more than you can give it...

Unfortunately, my brother was driving it last night and we were running down some normal streets downtown in Naples. Since we had a hurricane hit about two weeks ago, there is tons of debris still sitting on the side of the road. Well it turns out that I was in front of him in the E and I had to move to the other lane just to miss a huge downed tree, thought it would've been cleaned up by now, and I ran over some pretty large sticks and limbs that you could not avoid. Well since my brother was following, he ran them over too but he wasn't so lucky. He had a part of a limb snap up once he ran it over and it literally puncture an 6 inch by 4 inch hole into the front left portion of the bumper. The fog light is knocked out of its position and the front left part of the bumper is completely ruined. Long story short, we will get an estimate on the bumper and the price.

I am not worried about the cost, I know it will be a lot since it is so new but since the bumper is plastic is not too shabby but the fact that it will take a while to get the parts and just the fact that it happens brings me to the point of tears. Oh well.. It's still completely driveable but I can't bring myself to drive it until it's fixed.

...........really sorry to hear that. I totally understand how you feel about it. Once I had an accident in my CLK. It too had a bumper damage. They told since it was a Lorinser bumper for W208, it will take 3months to be ordered from Germany. They wanted me to take thje car home and to bring car back when bumper arrives. I refused an insisted they keep the car until it was fixed because I just couldn't bear seeing the car like that in my garage. As luck would have it, neither could they...........they figured out how to fix the damaged bumper without replacing it. It took 10 days.

I have an old client in Naples that owns Pine Ridge Coach Works, aka a nice body shop, give him a call and see if he can help. Mike Bouer...workaholic. He should be in the book...if not I can look up his number in the PDA on monday.

He does Vipers, porches etc.....I am sure he has a nice shop.

thanks. I will definitely give that shop a call. I have an idea of what you are talking about.
I was thinking that since the bumper is indeed plastic, it would probably be easiest just to replace the whole thing through the Chevrolet dealership but I will call them Monday and see what happens. It just sucks because this will it will definitely not be done since Thanksgiving will shut it all down.

I want this thing to be fixed so badly. I just drove it to dinner with a few friends just to tie me over for the night. It really makes some wind noise, go figure, once you get cruising but thats expected with a cracked bumper.

And what really annoys me is the fact that I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary, we were just driving around and he couldn't avoid it and it just mauled the **** out of that bumper. Oh well, thats the pitfall of having such a nice car. When the price of a car grows exponentially, so do the repairs and the agony most of all.

Thanks for the help

Found it! 239-596-3922, his daughter works the front desk, your age. Freakn Home schooled kid..His name is Mike Bauer "owner" and has good pricing, as far as speed he is fast, the only slow time is getting the parts in.

If anyone is around Charleston, SC,,I have all the contacts for anything there! VIP in upscale restaurants, Comedy Clubs, etc....

Jordan

PS...Since Naples is land of the rich, where do the car guys hang out? Any cruise meets/shows? I bet there are some nice cars there.
