Remote Radar Install in Chicago (K40 vs Passport)

I'm picking up an E55 and want to get a remote radar installed. Any recommendations of really good installers in Chicago area? I'm particularly looking for somebody who can install led lights in the dash display and hide everything else.
Also, I know its been discussed in past, but with the new K40 bluetooth, anybody have opinion of K40 vs. Passport SR7?

Thanks

K40 (at least last year) got panned by Radartest.com as ineffective. The blue tooth technology is pretty interesting, though. But if you are not installing it yourself, then I am not sure it matters. Makes it more portable, but I was able to remove my Passport SRX from my Z06 and install it in my E. The head unit is mounted in the ashtray. All I need to do to hide it is flip the cover down. You can save yourself a great deal of time and money by not worrying about LED's.

Deaddog,

Try Bodywerks in Skokie. They did the remote K40 installation in my CLK55, utilizing the dummy lights in the dash display. Don't know how much they charge as it was done a while ago. Good luck

Enzom -- Pix?

Enzom - I'd love to see a picture of your sr7 display mounted in ashtray. I didn't think it would fit and I was going to go for the single led in dash - I'd much prefer full display Did they remove both the ashtray AND the lighter assembly? Can you yank it and put ashtray back in for resale (if necessary)?

For what's it's worth, I run both the escort passport and k40 hidden remote on my E55. On my SL500 I run the Escort SR7. On the 55 the Escort has "slightly" better forward reception but extreamly lacking on the rear end. I've run the led on the dash and much prefer the escort screeen read out. No confussion or time wasted trying to figure out what type of radar signal is coming in. On the SL the display unit is mounted on the lower right corner of the insturment cluster near the gas gauge. Hardly noticble, easy to read and easy to adjust. Hope this helps.
