Quiet E350 4M loaner
E55 is in the shop this week for routine maintenance....they gave me an E350 4Matic sedan as a loaner.
I can't believe how quiet this thing is! I'm not talking about the engine, either. The car is MUCH quieter on the freeway than my E55, or my E500 wagon for that matter. The only thing I can think of that would cause this is the tires. I have OEM Contis on the E55 and the E350 has OEM contis as well. I also have panorama roof, but would that make a difference?
I'm stunned. Are the E55 OEM Contis THAT noisy? Are the Michelins much quieter?

cabin noise
55's have tighter suspension, a ton more rubber on the road, and the side walls are thinner, all this lends to increased cabin noise.
Basically on an e55 you pay alot extra for the harsher feel and more cabin noise is the way I look at it.
